Filtering file results
Meta has filters to help you narrow down your searches. These filters are located in a dropdown on the right of the search bar.
You can filter your search results by file type, cloud account, and recency.
The filetype filters limit the file results to files of a certain type (ex. Documents, spreadsheets, etc.)
The cloud account filters limit the results to files on a particular cloud service.
The recency filters limit your results to files modified (or accessed with Meta) in the past day, week, month, etc. You can also click “Custom” to create a custom time window.
You can select any combination of these filters to build more powerful searches (ex. “Documents on Dropbox and Google I worked on last week”).
You can also filter results by folder or Smart Tag, depending which view mode you’re using (check out our article on changing view modes for more information). Simply click a Smart Tag or folder name in the results list to limit search results to files associated with that particular Smart Tag or folder, respectively.
To remove a filter, you can either uncheck them in the dropdown or click the filter icon at the right side of the search bar. You can remove all filters at once by clicking the “x” at the right of the search bar or by pressing the escape key.
